Introduction

It’s true…every boy grows up to be a man.

However, as we know, not every man elevates to “gentleman status.” Whatever the reasons. Of course, we don’t teach young men how to be gentlemen in school. There’s no curriculum. There’s no user manual. And let’s face it, we lack good role models.

It’s also complicated. The world is extremely complex. Society and social media send us mixed messages. It’s hard to sort out what we should and shouldn’t be doing? Do I hold the door? Do I give her my seat? Do I wear a sport coat? Do I call him Jack or Mr. Newman? What’s the right thing to do?

To me, it’s crystal clear, now more than ever, we NEED more men to elevate to “gentlemen status.”

Yes, I believe what we do, what we say, how we present ourselves, and how we treat others matters. Gentlemen show respect, kindness, openness, and humility. They’re disciplined. They work hard. They have a moral compass guiding them and a strong code of ethics.

I believe it’s time…time to bring back the gentlemen.

Why did I write this book? Well, I’ve had some long-standing beliefs on what it means to be a good person, a good human. I simply leveraged those same beliefs to develop a handbook of sorts for gentlemen, with the hope of inspiring them to be successful in both business and life. I also added some introspective questions to encourage reflection, and ultimately…ACTION.

It’s time to bring back the gentlemen.

My hope is that my book, A Gentleman’s Guide for Winning in Business & Life, does just that.

Wishing you the very best!
